How do I offer on a property when I find a property that I like?

When you find a property that you like you can offer to buy it. Usually the agent will give you a simple form to fill out with your written offer. You may also be required to complete a contract of sale, this state

  • The amount you are offering
  • Details of your deposit
  • Settlement date

The contract becomes binding when you & the seller/s have signed it.

Should I get a Building & Pest inspection?

It is recommended that buyers get the building & pest inspection done on the property prior to settling an offer. An average combined building & pest inspection can take roughly 90 minutes.

I want to buy the property at auction!

Prior to auction you can pay for the building & Pest report to be done on the property. Ask you agent if the vendors have already got an inspection done on the property.

You must ensure the bank or your broker knows that you are wanting to buy a property at auction so that the bank can check that they property is a suitable security before you attend & bid at auction.
